Finally it came today.
Those feelings that the holiday season is supposed to bring; warmth, thankfullness, good will... that stuff. Some years it has shown up late. And some years it hasn't really happened at all.
With all the suffering and turmoil in the world I have a lot to be thankful for... and this guy needs a holiday haircut so he can wear his present from Alexandre.
Enjoy the holidays!

On the one hand my intentions were the best; resuming a workout scheme that we used to do. On the other hand I didn't realize that by not exercising for a fairly long time it isn't the greatest idea to just jump in and do a 45 minute routine as if no time had passed. Yesterday when I got out of bed I felt fine. But three hours later every muscle in my body was complaining. At least I have already started in on a new years resolution and it isn't even Christmas yet...

Ah, the wonders of this season...
There is the joy of holiday shopping all around! The endless lines at every single retailer... and the wonderful and courteous help always smiling and ready to assist you at every turn. Right.
And then there is the roulette game that is winter travel. This morning I had reservations on Air Canada to fly into New York for a meeting. My plan was to head down to the shore and visit the folks before returning on Monday. At this point we have to introduce Mother Nature into the equation.
Earlier this week the weather forecasters were bleating their warnings about a major storm that was to start on Thursday and last into Friday morning. Dire tones warned of up to 30 centimeters of snow.
I called Air Canada to inquire about re booking as the meeting had been postponed until next week and the obviously stressed out voice on the other end of the call informed me that my flight had already been canceled. It hadn't even started to snow!
This year I just don't feel it. Maybe it is the new job. Or it might be just the tedium of the same thing year after year...
Sure it would be nice to jet off to some warm island and disappear for a couple weeks while hordes of mall shoppers skidded around snow covered parking lots, but that isn't going to happen this year.
What will happen is a quick trip down and back to New York next week, and then a regrouping and settling in for the holiday week. Then is when I will get the seasonal heart warming... tucked in with Luigi with Mark in the studio. Something will be simmering on the stove and the noise and congestion of furtive shoppers far off in the distance...
