You get up,
you go to work,
you do your job,
then you go home. Then every two weeks or so "they" pay you. That’s the way that usually works.

Oh you mean what you "do" when you are doing what you are doing? Most certainly it involves solving someone else's problem, getting them what they want and need, or making them feel much better about it. Hell, If you can do all three things at once they pay you the big bucks. So, you do exactly what your brother does...right, only the fish is already in the can when you stick the brightly colored label on it.

can this be possible? having the same conversation with my family - about the same thing - at the same time??? (not what you do for a living but what I do...)...how do you make your parents (who imigrated to Canada from Italy and can understand what a teacher does, or a doctor, or bus driver does, but what the hell do u do if you're in advertising??? - better yet, what the hell is strategic planning??? and what's the italian translation?) I gave up years ago, they still think I teach highschool....(I quit that nonsense 10 years ago)... i'm sure eventually they'll figure out I no longer teach, at that point, i will have to explain what it is i do exactly...i'm hoping by then, I'll know....

My dad can sort of grasp what I do, but my mom? Yeeeeesh....
